NSMA's Sports Trivia Night
Are you a sports trivia expert? Do you know all the answers, when your friends don't? Would you like to win a $1,000 prize by beating all comers? Or, be part of a ten-person team eligible to split the $2500 team jackpot?
The National Sports Media Association is hosting a virtual Sports Trivia Night, on Wednesday, March 31st, starting at 7:30 pm ET, as a fundraiser to support its dual mission of honoring excellence in the sports media industry, and of connecting the next generation of sports media professionals.
Sports Trivia Night will be held via Zoom and Kahoot!. Multiple-choice questions will be shared via Zoom. Contestants will select their answers on their phones via the Kahoot! app. Scoring leaders will be updated after each answer for individual players.
Registrants must download the Kahoot! app on their phones (download only the Play option, not the Create option), and have a laptop or desktop computer in order to play.
A unique PIN will be given to each contestant just prior to the start of the contest.
Anyone over 18 years of age may enter as an individual ($100). You may also enter a team of ten ($1,000).
The contestant pool will be limited to the first 500 entrants.
Each player or team must reserve a space on the NSMA website before 11:59 pm ET on March 30, 2021.
There will be four rounds of 20 questions each. Each question will have four possible answers. Each player will select his/her answer on his/her phone using the Kahoot! app, which gives points for correct answers and weighs those points by the speed of the answer. Kahoot! will automatically tally scores, which will be checked in between rounds. The top five individual winners will be announced at the conclusion of play. The team winner will be announced on the NSMA website on April 1, and the team captain will be contacted via email that day.
Prizes are as follows (checks will be mailed on April 5th):
1st Place - $1,000
2nd Place - $500
3rd Place - $350
4th Place - $300
5th Place - $250
1st Place - $2,500
In between rounds, we'll be joined by sports media celebrities to discuss current topics in sports. Check nationalsportsmedia.org for updates!
