ABOUT THE NSMA'S MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
Mentorship Meetings:
1. Schedule regular virtual meetings between mentors and mentees (one-hour, monthly meetings are encouraged, but mentors/mentees may agree on their own schedule/timetable).
2. Encourage mentors to set agendas for each meeting and provide guidance on specific topics or challenges.
3. Facilitate open and honest communication between mentors and mentees.
Goal Setting:
1. Encourage mentees to set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals with their mentors.
2. Monitor progress towards goals during mentorship meetings and provide support and feedback as needed.
Professional Development Opportunities
1. Provide access to NSMA resources, workshops, webinars, and events relevant to sports media professionals.
2. Encourage mentors to share their networks and connections to help mentees explore new opportunities and expand their professional networks.
Feedback and Evaluation:
1. Encourage mentors and mentees to provide regular feedback on the mentorship experience.
2. Conduct periodic evaluations to assess the effectiveness of the program and identify areas for improvement.
3. Use feedback to make adjustments and enhancements to the mentorship program.
