Thoughts on the 60th NSMA Awards Weekend, from those who will be attending.
Lauren Sisler -
Alabama Sportscaster (2nd time winner)
"I'm really excited for the 2019 edition of the NSMA Awards weekend. I had the privilege of attending this event in 2016 and must say it was exceptional thanks to the NSMA and its staff who put together such a memorable experience to celebrate an elite group of sports media members. Being amongst some of the greatest in this profession is truly an honor and I look forward to a new experience this year in Winston-Salem."
Wyatt Thompson - Kansas Sportscaster (4th time winner)
"I always look forward to the Sports Media Seminars at NSMA. It’s a terrific experience. I also enjoy the one on one time with the younger broadcasters who are so eager and excited to be making their mark in this great industry."
Tony Kornheiser - Hall of Fame Inductee
"At my age all I really look forward to are naps and nice bathrooms!"
Steve Hummer - Georgia Sportswriter (10th time winner)
"I’ve been to a gracious plenty of these events and each time I most look forward to reconnecting with peers from around the country, to spending time in the company of very talented people who still do very good work in trying times for our business. As I reach the verge of retirement, I find that I increasingly appreciate the chance to socialize with others in the sports media, to catch up, share stories and enjoy a good laugh or two."
Adrian Wojnarowski - National Sportswriter Winner
"It’s an honor to be surrounded with the absolute best of the best in our profession, and that’s true at every NSMA awards weekend. There are so many people who’ve inspired me in our industry, and many of them will be in attendance: From Hall of Famers, to state award winners, to members of the NSMA. It’s a great gathering place for folks who you don’t always get to see in your travels. I can’t wait."
Nick Coit - Rhode Island Sportscaster (2nd time winner)
"The NSMA Awards Weekend is a tremendous opportunity to be in the presence of the best in our business today. In my previous experience, I was happy to meet & talk with some of the most talented people in sports media from across the country, sharing stories & making new connections. It'll be an honor again to make the trip to Winston-Salem, where Dave Goren & the NSMA put together a great schedule of events that we can all enjoy & maybe even learn something new along the way!"
Peter King - Hall of Fame Inductee
"I’m excited about about being in the presence of so many passionate and high-achieving peers of mine. It’s always a thrill to be at this event. The NSMA is so important for our business. This year, it’s especially thrilling for me to be recognized with giants of the business Bob Ley, Tony Kornheiser and Doc Emrick."
Ed Graney - Nevada Sportswriter (6th time winner)
"I'm looking forward most to celebrating such talented work that reaches from one end of the country to the next and all points in between -- from Hall of Famers to national and state winners -- and embracing the honor of being included among such wonderful journalists."
Bob Ley - Hall of Fame Inductee
"I'm so looking forward to NMSA Weekend, to convene with so many friends and colleagues at the top of the profession. It will be an astounding collection of talented people. Can't wait."
