Oct. 3 Update from NSMA member/AIPS Young Reporter, Spencer Tomsett

Here is the latest from NSMA member Spencer Tomsett (above, far right), who was selected to take part in the AIPS Young Reporters program, covering the FIFA men's U-20 World Cup in Chile:

"Our first full week of classes is complete!! Team USA has essentially clinched a spot in the Round of 16, and I’ve been to 3/4 of the stadiums hosting matches in the tournament. We also got a tour of the photo seats pitch-side in Valparaiso!! ⚽️

"Most of the food we’ve had is from a pre-set FIFA menu, so rotating between those dishes. We recently got to do 24.000 pesos maximum from their entire menu, so I’ve been switching it up and enjoying the cuisine at the hotel!!

"All of us are getting along and bonded!! I’m the only person who speaks exclusively English, so it’s been tough when the majority speak full-on Spanish, BUT they’re all wonderful people who care about their craft, and it’s been tremendous hearing their stories and perspectives!!"
