Spencer Tomsett Reports from the FIFA U-20 Men's World Cup in Chile

If you had told high school me that I would be eating filet for room service on another person’s dime for my sports media work, I’d think you were crazy!! Some of the late nights require us to order room service instead of eating in the restaurant, so it’s a privilege to have!!

I’ve been to all four stadiums that have hosted matches in the tournament!! Talca was the final venue this past week to mark off, and plenty of great food & tourism mixed in between!! We went to see Camino de la Memoria, a tribute built inside of Santiago’s main stadium that remembers the Chilean dictatorship times of the nation’s history. We also went to the original stadium for Club Deportivo Palestino, soaking in another part of history in Chile!!

While the USA lost, we are guaranteed to have a colleague witness their U-20 National Team win the World Cup on Sunday night!! It’s hard to believe that I only have around 7 days left here; time flies when you work in sports media!!
