This is Tomsett's third report as part of the AIPS Young Reporters program, covering the FIFA U-20 Men's World Cup in Chile
LAUSANNE, October 5, 2025 - Deadline for submitting your work to the AIPS Sport Media Awards, the global prize for sports journalism, is approaching. The Awards accept submissions from all media professionals working in traditional and new media, regardless of their working status and with no restrictions when it comes to languages. These stories must have been first published or broadcast since 5 November 2024, until deadline of 4 November 2025.

Spencer Tomsett, an NSMA member since his student days at Middle Tennessee State University, has arrived in Santiago, Chile. There, he will cover the FIFA Men's Under-20 World Cup as part of the International Sports Press Association's (AIPS) Young Reporters program.

LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND -- The AIPS Sport Media Awards 2025 are looking for the best sports storytellers across the world. Submissions are open until 4 November 2025. More than 5,000 journalists have already participated in the seven editions since their creation. All languages are accepted, and submissions is free to anyone in the sports media industry.
