Meet the 2020 Award Winners: MA Sportscaster Dan Roche

NSMA 2020 Massachusetts co-Sportscaster of the Year Dan Roche recently visited with NSMA intern Sahil Dhawan.

Sahil: What was your career path like?

Dan: Growing up about 30 miles north of Boston, I grew up a Boston sports fan, and had one of those strange things. In seventh grade for some reason, I decided I wanted to do two things. One, I wanted to play college baseball, I didn't care how, where, or when, and two, I wanted to get into sports media, broadcasting, journalism or whatever. And I was lucky enough to do both. I went to a small school in Maine to play college baseball for one year before it went bankrupt. Called Nasson College. Had the time of my life. Played baseball with a group of great guys, had a lot of fun. And then I transferred to Syracuse where I began my sports broadcasting career, so I've been blessed and had a great time along the way.
