Meet the 2020 Award Winners: Nevada Sportscaster Kevin Bolinger

This award spotlight is on NSMA 2020 Nevada Sportscaster of the Year, Kevin Bolinger, a second time NSMA winner! Kevin is the sports director at the Fox TV Affiliate in Las Vegas.

Kevin was interviewed by NSMA intern Sahil Dhawan on his career and the industry as a whole.

NSMA: What was your career path like on your way to your current position?

Kevin: If I couldn't play, I wanted to be involved somehow. I went to a high school that had a radio station and then in college I fully committed. I knew it's what I wanted.

NSMA: What's your favorite part of the job?

Kevin: I like telling stories. I feel as if it is a lost art at some times. Now that Vegas has become a major sports town, there are so many stories popping up to cover.

NSMA: What has been the highlight of your broadcasting career?

Kevin: When the Golden Knights first got approval to join the NHL and when the Raiders got approval to join the NFL. I knew those moments would not only change my life, but the city as a whole.
