WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The National Sports Media Association’s 64th Awards Weekend & National Convention will move to its new home this summer – Grandover Resort, a Wyndham Grand Hotel. The event is set for June 30 and July 1, 2024, in Greensboro, N.C. With Grandover Resort located closer to the middle of central North Carolina, the move is part of the NSMA effort to engage the entire region.

Grandover Resort, which was recently renovated in honor of its 25th anniversary, hosts hundreds of events each year. Whether corporate meetings and events, weddings, conventions, or serving as the host hotel for the PGA TOUR’s Wyndham Championship, Grandover events are first class from start to finish. The NSMA Awards Weekend will now enjoy a level of excellence it has not experienced before.

“Moving our awards weekend to Grandover Resort is a major upgrade for our entire organization,” NSMA executive director Dave Goren said. “We are thrilled to offer our award winners and our membership a phenomenal awards weekend experience, and we can’t wait for them to enjoy everything Grandover has to offer. It’s been a pleasure to work with Kelly Harrill and his Grandover staff; they could not have been more welcoming to our organization, and we sincerely thank the Greensboro Sports Council and the Greensboro Sports Foundation for their assistance as we move forward with these exciting plans. I don’t think I’ve ever been more optimistic about the NSMA and its future. And I can't wait to see how much our award winners, their guests, and the rest of our attendees enjoy themselves this summer.”

"Our entire team at Grandover Resort is thrilled to host the NSMA and share in the celebration of the guests coming to be with us,” Executive Vice President for Koury Hospitality Hotels Kelly Harrill said. “The city of Greensboro, with its rich sports history, is already talking about how special it will be to host some of the finest sports journalists in the world in ‘Tournament Town’ and how we can enhance their experience while they’re in our region of North Carolina."

"On behalf of the Greensboro Sports Council, we welcome the NSMA award and convention to Greensboro,” GSC President Tyler Key said. “We're excited for their media members from across the country to experience our incredible city and show them the hospitality that has established Greensboro as ‘Tournament Town.’”

"Greensboro looks forward to hosting the NSMA Awards and National Convention at Grandover Resort so that these prestigious sports media from across the country can learn firsthand of our commitment to youth and amateur sports and why Greensboro is known as 'Tournament Town,’” Richard Beard, President of the Greensboro Sports Foundation said. “We are committed to a positive experience for them while visiting our community."

Grandover Resort features 36 holes of championship golf, a luxurious day spa, tennis, overnight accommodations, three bars, two restaurants, an art gallery, live entertainment, an indoor/outdoor pool, a conference center, and event venues. NSMA attendees and their guests won’t have to leave the property to enjoy the other resort amenities while attending the event. In addition, NSMA guests will be able to extend their stay either before or after the awards weekend; Grandover is offering its NSMA rate to all guests attending the awards weekend at the same rate for June 26 - July 5, 2024.

Tickets go on sale via the NSMA website, nationalsportsmedia.org, on Friday, March 1.
