NSMA to Host Speaker Lunches in, Around Winston-Salem

The NSMA will soon begin hosting lunch events in and around its headquarters city of Winston-Salem, NC. Executive director Dave Goren told the NSMA board of directors at its October 19 meeting that he envisioned six-to-eight luncheons per year, with NSMA members as speakers, talking about issues germane to area sports fans.
These lunches will be open to NSMA members only, with the initiative to add Friends of NSMA members -- local people who are not working sports media members, but who want to support the NSMA and its mission. The idea grew out of last spring's "Lunch with Wes" and "Dinner with Wes" events, featuring NSMA board president Wes Durham, who talked about the business of college sports.
