Meet Our Spring 2025 nterns
Vance Ballard, from Mebane, NC, graduated from East Carolina
University in 2016 with a degree in Communications and a minor in film studies.
Vance is a full-time firefighter in Hillsborough NC, where he’s spent
the last 5 years serving as a Firefighter, Driver, and EMT. The married father of 2 wonderful sons spends his free time with his family and doing
freelance play-by-lay broadcasting. Vance is a true sports junkie who loves
the history as much as the game, especially if it’s NC State, the Atlanta Braves, or the
Cincinnati Bengals. Vance hopes to one day make a career move into full-time
play-by-play.
Denise Coleman is a native of Baltimore, MD and now resides in Winston-Salem, NC. A senior at Reagan High School in Pfafftown, NC, Denise just finished her last season on the highly-regarded Reagan HS swim team, swimming the 50m freestyle for the Raiders. She is also a member of the Latin Club and has contributed to her church's community service program. Interested in a sports media career, Denise has applied to several colleges and universities.
Hi, I'm Jackson Green from Mooresville, NC and am a senior at the University of South Carolina. I’m majoring in Broadcast Journalism with a Sport & Entertainment Management minor. I’ve worked in internships involving sports media and broadcasting, working in the Coastal Plain League and with the Winston-Salem Dash. On campus, I have been involved with USC’s student-run local news broadcast, Carolina News & Reporter. I’m also a member of the Beta Theta Pi organization and spend my free time immersing myself in sports. There isn't a league or organization where I wouldn’t watch some baseball, football, basketball, golf, etc. I’m hoping to pursue a career in sports media/TV with the specific goal of play-by-play commentary.
Riley Horton is a senior at West Forsyth High School in Clemmons, NC. You may know it as the same high school that NBA star Chris Paul attended. Riley was the starting quarterback for the Titans' football team in 2024. He plans to continue in that role when he attends Fayetteville State University in the fall. Last summer, Riley worked for the Winston-Salem Dash baseball team (Class A Carolina League) as part of their entertainment team. In his spare time, Riley likes to play video games, especially Madden Football.
Catherine Kreidler, from Cincinnati, OH, has started her senior year at Wake Forest University. She is a Dean's List student majoring in Communications and double minoring in Psychology and Spanish. Catherine spent the past spring semester abroad in Salamanca, Spain, where she lived with a host family and fully immersed herself in the Spanish culture. On campus, she is a member of Delta Delta Delta and serves as the photography chair. Catherine loves football and baseball, especially if it is the Bengals and Reds, and would love to pursue a career in Sports Media.
